LiveFire Labs: Online UNIX Training with Hands-on Internet Lab

"Your web (instructional) and UNIX lab system availability/reliability has been 100%. The material is clear and well presented. I have had the benefit of seeing a good bit of the basic course material before in other formats, and your 'to the point' approach has helped pull the ideas all together for me. The lab component is very good, taking it from 'head knowledge' to 'applied knowledge' immediately."

"I actually learned something in your class. The lessons are written in plain English and the exercises are practical and involve real world situations. Absolutely the best IT class I have ever taken online."

Learn Python Programming

Each course in LiveFire Labs' Learn Python Programming series, like all of our online learning courses, includes global access to a real server in our Internet Lab.  This gives you the ability to immediately test your understanding of key Python programming concepts by working through the course's hands-on exercises on a pre-configured ready-to-go lab system.

Why LiveFire Labs?

When studying a new programming language, such as Python, there is no better way to learn the concepts than to write and run your own programs on a real system.  After more than 10 years of providing online technology courses to students from around the world, being able to work through practical lab exercises on a server in a safe non-production environment continues to be the #1 reason why students register for our courses.  It is also the component they say that has helped them the most in understanding and retaining the material they are studying.

Why Learn Python with us?

One thing we are doing with the Learn Python Programming series is to make it as realistic as possible.  The approach used for designing each course's hands-on lab exercises is that of a real-world project, where each exercise builds upon the previous and results in a single deliverable (solution) at the end of the course.  Similar to what is typical when you are programming for an employer or client.

Not only do the exercises build upon the previous exercise within a single Python course, but they also span across all of the courses in the series.  The deliverable from the beginner Python programming course will feed into the lab exercises and project for the intermediate course, and the same holds true between the intermediate and advanced courses.

Again, the key objective is to design each course's exercises and deliverable to be as close as possible to what would be expected from a Python developer in a real-world scenario.

Availability of LiveFire Labs’ online Python Programming courses is targeted for June 2013.  If you would like to receive notification when the Learn Python Programming courses are published, please provide your contact information:
